Food Revolution Day “Pittsburgh” Event

This is a free event. Burgh Bees has teamed up with the Food Revolution Pittsburgh Cooking Club, to participate on Friday, May 16th 2014 in this years Pittsburgh Food Revolution Day. Food Revolution Pittsburgh empowers our community to take ownership of our food choices by providing access to culinary skills, industry experience, and the tools and resources necessary to sustain healthy lifestyles and communities. Food Revolution Day is a global day of action for people to make a stand for good food and essential cooking skills. It’s a chance for people to come together within their homes, schools, workplaces and communities to cook and share their kitchen skills, food knowledge and resources. Food Revolution Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of good food and better food education for everyone by focusing on three simple actions – cook it, share it, live it. The 2nd annual 2014 Food Revolution Day Pittsburgh will include integrative activities, food booths and theme-based exhibits. We anticipate the event being one of the largest Food Revolution Day events globally with attendance of over 5,000. Thanks to partnership with the Pittsburgh Global Shapers the event will recognize and invigorate cross-sector efforts dedicated to sustaining food-focused community development. Beyond the one-day event, our goal is to raise $250,000.00 to advance the Cooking Club’s programming in the Pittsburgh region.
